Student Health Services has a variety of task forces to help student in any way they can.

Eating Disorders Outpatient Program

At Student Health Services, our Eating Disorders Outpatient Program (EDOP) is designed to provide comprehensive care to students who have unhealthy relationships with food, body image concerns, and/or disordered eating behaviors. Students can participate in individual psychotherapy, nutritional assessment and counseling, and medical assessment and treatment. The team uses a multidisciplinary approach, which means that your treatment providers will, with your consent, communicate in order to facilitate effective treatment.

Sexual Assault Treatment Team

Student Health Services has formed a Sexual Assault Treatment Team (SATT) comprised of multidisciplinary health care providers to coordinate physical and psychological care for sexual assault victims/survivors/thrivers. We provide trauma-informed, comprehensive, medical, and psychological care.

Transgender Support Team

The Transgender Support Team (TST) works to ensure that services and care provided by SHS are inclusive, supportive, and affirming to SIU students of all gender identities and expressions. The TST provides education, advocacy, and assistance to any transgender or gender non-conforming SIU student. In addition, the team supports SHS staff through policy review and development, training, and consultation.
