Wellness and Health Promotion Services provides health promotion and prevention education to equip students with the skills needed to make effective choices regarding their health and wellbeing. We aim to promote positive health changes and prevent negative outcomes. Outreach programming and resources are provided to create a healthy and inclusive campus culture.

All Wellness and Health Promotion services are free to SIU students.

Wellness and Health Promotion Services Mission

Provide quality, evidenced-based and student-centered education to enhance student success, promote healthy behaviors within the dimensions of wellness, reduce harm and unwanted health outcomes, and support equitable, inclusive, and affirmative care that reduces disparities and stigmas to all students through collaborations with campus and community partners.

Wellness and Health Promotion Services Vision

To support university strategic plans by becoming the go-to resource on campus and in the community for evidenced-based health promotion and prevention education, supporting underserved, marginalized, and at-risk populations, expanding utilization and accessibility across campus, as well as to use our expertise of current events, campus culture, and the local environment to advocate for social justice and be health equity change agents.
